HEAVY DUTY MECHANIC

Duties:

• Routine preventive maintenance of fleet vehicles at assigned intervals.
• Generating repair orders.
• Order parts, tracking parts inventory and maintaining vendor relationships.
• Documentation of PM reports & equipment repair logs.
• Track expenses
• Identify trends
• Respond to and resolves various complaints and/or issues with fleet
• Repairs of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and diesel systems
• Air brake repairs.
• Chassis repairs.
• Repair of construction type fleet equipment and vehicles.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Must be able to work with minimum supervision.

Qualifications:

• Requires experience repairing diesel engines and hydraulic systems
• Requires experience repairing air brakes; certification is preferred but not required
• Requires experience in HV/AC
• Aerial device experience a plus
• Must have at least 5 years’ experience working as a mechanic
• Class" A" CDL required. (Must obtain if do not have already)
• Must be able to travel to other work sites. Work truck will be provided.
• Customer service oriented and trustworthy.
• Working knowledge of DOT requirements and regulations or willing to learn.
• Must be willing to work overtime, in inclement weather and weekends when needed.
